The working principle of a butterfly valve is based on the rotational movement of the disc. When the disc is in the fully open position, it is parallel to the pipeline axis, allowing fluid to flow smoothly through the pipe. When the disc rotates 90 degrees to the closed position, it becomes perpendicular to the pipeline axis, blocking the flow of fluid. This design gives the butterfly valve low fluid resistance during opening and closing, making it suitable for flow control and regulation in large-diameter pipelines.
